AHA Hybrid Courses
Heart Start CPR introduces hybrid courses for healthcare providers, first responders, and medical professionals. What we offer is online courses and skills test sessions for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). We offer flexible, convenient, quality resuscitation training for certification and recertification.
Hybrid Basic Life Support (BLS) Course
The hybrid HeartCode BLS course combines online learning and in-person skills practice to get certified in basic life support skills. It uses a personalized online program that adapts the learning for each student. This allows for flexibility in learning compared to traditional BLS classes with set schedules.
The course consists: Online training (30 mins - 3 hrs) + skills test (20 mins - 1 hr)
The online part of the training teaches BLS concepts through different learning methods like case studies, interactive activities, and videos. This covers skills for one rescuer and team efforts. Healthcare providers can learn at their own pace and apply the knowledge through real-life decision-making simulations. They get feedback after skills tests and activities.
After the online portion of the training, students do an in-person skills assessment using special mannequins that provide audio and visual feedback in real-time. This allows students to practice and test their BLS skills. Once both parts are completed, students earn their BLS provider certification through the American Heart Association. Continuing education credits are also available.

Hybrid Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Course
The hybrid HeartCode ACLS course is a blended program of online and in-person learning to get certified in advanced cardiac life support skills. Like the BLS course, it uses a personalized online platform that adapts to each student’s needs. This allows for more flexible scheduling compared to the traditional ACLS Classes.
The course consists: Online training (30 mins - 3 hrs) + skills test (20 mins - 1 hr)
The online portion teaches ACLS knowledge and skills through videos, illustrations, interactive activities, and simulations. Students learn at their own pace and apply the knowledge to real-life decision-making scenarios. They receive immediate feedback after knowledge checks and simulation activities.
After completing the online part, students do an in-person skills assessment using specialized mannequins that provide real-time audio and visual feedback. This allows them to practice and test their ACLS abilities. Once both the online and in-person parts are done, students earn their ACLS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Continuing Education credits are also available after the completion of the training.
Why Heart Start CPR For Hybrid Courses
Hybrid Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course
The hybrid HeartCode PALS course is a combined online and in-person learning program for certification in pediatric advanced life support skills. Like the BLS and ACLS courses, it utilizes a personalized online platform that adapts to each student. This allows for more flexible scheduling compared to traditional PALS classes.
The course consists: Online training (30 mins - 3 hrs) + skills test (20 mins - 1 hr)
The online portion teaches PALS algorithms and skills through videos, illustrations, simulations, and interactive activities. Students learn at their own pace and apply the knowledge through real-life decision-making scenarios. They receive feedback after knowledge checks and simulation activities.
After the online part, students complete an in-person skills assessment using specialized mannequins that provide real-time audio and visual feedback. This allows them to practice and test their PALS abilities. Upon finishing both components, students earn their PALS provider certification from the American Heart Association. Continuing education credits are also available after course completion.
